With the days till Rex's 1st Birthday approaching I remember how important it was to me to keep his birthday and Christmas separate. If I met you and your birthday was near the best holiday in the year I would ask you, "what did your family do to make your birthday so special so close to the holidays?". A couple of cute comments come to mind: a grandmother who always sent her grandson a birthday card and Christmas card (he was born on Christmas), a family who let their child celebrate his half birthday or allowing a child to open 1 present a week leading up to Christmas! Well this year I have decided to go with the gifts leading up to Christmas!!!
I know he does not know any better, but I do! We decided that due to the increasing cold Rex could open his present from Mommy and Daddy! And let's just say that he loves it!
Let's see why...
In addition Grandpa and Grandmas gift came in the mail as well and why go through all the trouble in wrapping it when it was just to big to hide???
He loves this gift as well.....check it out.
What a happy boy......Love that lil smile.
We have two weeks to go until his actual birthday but let all those days be as special as the day he was born. We love you Monkey

Monkeying Around
With this being your first Halloween we visited Aunt Judy's annual Halloween party. You the monkey and Mommy and Daddy the Zoo Keepers! You had so much fun watching all the other cousins running around and kept on your costume longer then I expected!!
Finally on Halloween night we dressed you in your costume and paraded you around while handing our candy. You loved to carry around the little packs of Hot Tamales because on the noise they made when you squeezed the bags (I think you were actually trying to eat them!)
All in all you had a blast and the Monkey costume was a hit!!
Time to start thinking about next years costume.....maybe a dinosaur????

Pumpkin Patch Fun!
With living in the state of Arizona you have to understand that not only do we lack the visual appeal of rolling green hills and gloomy rainy days, but we also lack actual pumpkin patches!! With that said we decided to visit a local churches "pumpkin patch" and take advantage of what it had to offer!!
Daddy decided that we needed to put your lil monkey face in this cute little pumpkin face! You thought it was so funny!!
You had to touch all the pumpkins and put the little ones in your mouth!! YUMMY!!
We had a great time in this so called pumpkin patch, and if you being little means that I can take advantage of "Knock Off Versions" and you don't know any better than so be it!!!

Splish...Splash!!!
I know that it is officially fall, but here in AZ the word fall does not mean pull out your beanies and sweaters! It means enjoying beautiful weather that you can sit out side and relax in without leaving behind a sweat mark.
Auntie, Uncle and I decided to enjoy this nice weather and walk around a shopping mall in Scottsdale. Mommy was excited to take lil Rexi to what I thought was a splash pad, but more of an artistic water show! Either way we decided that you would love to play in it and that you did!!
If it wasn't for the NO DIAPER sign you would have been out there in your skimmies!!!

October is finally HERE!
I can't believe that October is finally here and my baby is 9 months old!!! (3 more months and this little guy will be a year old!!)
Rexi and I were out doing some errands when Daddy suggested we come visit him at work to see the "pumpkin patch". We venture on over excited to see your face as you would be laying your eyes on your first pumpkin!
Little to mommys knowledge this was not a "real" pumpkin patch, but more of a display of pumpkins! More or less you still wanted to stand next to them and bang on them like a drum!!!
For now this will do until we visit a Real Pumpkin Patch!!

From rivers to lakes....we had a splash!!
Earlier this month we took Rex on his first trip to Oregon to see family! His Uncle's, Aunt and Cousins! Grandma and Grandpa flew with us too!
Some of the highlights of the trip was all the water we visited and played in!!
We played in the creek and had lots of fun! The water was chilly but you didn't care you still wanted to splash the water and you tried to put rocks in your mouth!
Mommy wanted to visit the Oregon Coast so we went for a long drive. This was your first time playing in the sand, you got it everywhere!! I wish it was warmer so you could have played in the water.
Near the end of our visit we spent a day the at the Lake. It was beautiful here and Daddy tried to catch a fish for you! He did not have the best of luck :( You loved to play in the water and Mommy let you all day until you finally passed out!!
Overall our visit to Oregon was a blast and we can not wait to visit it again!!!

Pool Time Fun!
Wow, what a week!! Brett and I took our First Family Vacation (plane ride and all with a 5 month old) and came back to Arizona with a few guests, my sister and adorable Nephew!!
Seeing the boys interact, reaching for each other's faces, sucking on one another's arm was the cutest thing I ever saw.
Since we live in the hottest state in the world it only made sense to take advantage of Nana's pool.
For the first time the boys put on their swim trunks, and hats and lounged by the pool in their floaties.
Rex was very unsure, but looked quite relaxed in his shades as you can see, while Khage played in the water like a pro splashing and all!
I have to say of all the firsts' that I have experienced in being a new mommie this was definitely was of the most special moments.
Two new mommies, sisters, with our adorable little boys playing in the pool for the first time!! Gotta Love It!!

Easter Time is Here!
Wow! I can not believe that Easter is already here and that you are almost 4 months old. It feels just like yesterday we were anxiously awaiting your arrival under our Christmas tree. But here you are now growing faster than ever!!
Well, Mommy decided that since you were too young to be visiting Santa Claus that we were definitely taking advantage of this furry, over-sized, fluffy creature and get your cute little smile on his lap. I was so excited that you obviously had to have a new little outfit, little did I know that your cute little almost 4 months old booty would barely fit into the 6 month size collared shirt that I purchased! You looked so manly and cute it just had to work.
On the evening of Thursday April 7th Mommy, Daddy and Nana took you on your first trip of many future trips to the mall (Mommy loves shopping). There was no line and we walked right up. You didn't have much reaction to the bunny like I thought. You sat on Mr. Bunny's lap while Mommy and Daddy made fools of our selves in public just to get a smile :) Within minutes we had a huge smile, now that was just to easy, let's get more I thought!! Much to my dismay that was the one and only smile we captured being that you were so mesmerized with all of the malls surroundings, the train, lights, and people.
Your first picture with the Easter Bunny is so adorable I can't help showing it off, let's just hope future pictures go the same!!!

To My Best Friend.....
One week today you and Auntie moved 1,017.09 miles away...since we have been born ( a whole three months) I have never experienced life without you! We have shared many things in our little time of life from crazy feeding schedules, our first Christmas, tales of accomplishments, shopping adventures, our first trip to the park to our crazy mommies pointing those weird looking electronic flashing thingys that they point at us saying horrific things at high pitched voices just to get a smirk (I don't smile on purpose just to see how long she will keep it up)!!
All that I know of my life so far is that I wish we could spend it all together...experience all our firsts, seconds and thirds! Hear our mommies brag about our major accomplishments and see the love in our families faces as we grow up together. Cousin I love you and even though we can't see each other every day I know that we will remain the best of friends. I love you with all my heart and can't wait till Auntie and you take your first flight to see me....
Love your Bestie.....Rex
