Check me out

While thinking up creative ideas on how to take Rexi's up and coming 18 month photos (my how time flies), I came to the realization Picnik is closed, my go to editing website, I now need a back up plan! As we all know I am a full-time mommie, wifey and everything else above and do not even have a moment to pluck my eyebrows. I could only call my sweet, loving online hunting, money pinching sister!! "Sister please help me in finding an online editing website so that I can take some adorable photos of your nephew?" (If I throw in nephew she is ALWAYS willing to help). And before I know it....ching, or whatever noise a fairy god sister makes when a wish is granted....PicMonkey!
Can I just say AMAZING....and to prove my point take a look at my lil monkey.

Am I right or what?....now I just need to find some creative pics places and for the weather to drop some 20 degrees! OUCH!

Easter Fun

I know this is a little late and Easter has come and gone...but at least this post is still in the month of April!!!
Easter was such a blast this year not only because Rex could participate in an egg hunt, but more because we got to spend it with family, mainly my Nephew (sorry sister, your just his chauffeur!!) but it was nice to see you too!!

The festivities started off with a hunt for their baskets the Easter Bunny left behind....some of us were not in the mood!!

Once baskets were pondered over it was time for an Easter Egg Hunt!!
You can tell we have some little hunters on our hands after this activity.....

I can not believe how much time has gone by! And how fast theses two have grown up. Times like this make being a parent all worth it!

ohh and just because I can here is a glimpse at the boys first spat....it was more cute then harmful!!!

I wanna be like Mike......a.k.a Daddy!!!

Rexi is so fond of Daddy that sometimes it makes me a little jealous! He cries when he leaves the room and wants to go EVERYWHERE Daddy is. While I was at home for a few days with the little rascal I began to realize how much this lil guy IS just like his Daddy.
For starters he wants to wear Daddy's shoes and will get so upset when he can't get them on!

For those of you who know Daddy you know how much he loves a good Quesadilla (this was his primary food choice of dinner when we first met)!
Mommy made a bomb quesadilla with BBQ chicken, cheese and grilled pineapple (jalapeno as well on Daddy's)
Little did Mommy know Rexi would love this dinner!! I should have known!

Of all the things that this little guy does like his Daddy is eat.....and when I mean eat I mean EAT.
He eat almost half of this thing and was loving all of it!
I guess whatever my baby wants, my baby gets!

We're going to the Zoo!

We finally got the time off together to take our little monkey to the zoo! I think he was excited...what do you think?
At the zoo I was surprised at how much he was interested in what was going on....more with the other little kids running around rather then the animals!!!
Rex loved the petting zoo! He pet the goats just as he would pet his own doggies! GENTLE!

The one animal that Rex was most interested in was the giraffes! I think because it was the only thing we could get close to.
All in all the zoo was a hit (maybe more for Mommie and Daddy)!
Getting out of the house and experiencing a first with our little one was a blast!
Until next time......

Party Time!

For the cutest little boys that I know, your mommies wanted you to have the best 1st party in the world. We threw you a Thing 1 and Thing 2 Dr. Seuss themed party that was a blast! There was a lot of preparation and paper cutting, but overall the best 1st party I have been to yet!
With having a December party there had to be a Christmas Tree incorporated....so mommie made you a Seuss tree
(here is the tree you forgot sister)

We had so much fun, but the best part was the cake eating....

Overall the party was a blast and I could not have asked for a more perfect
1st Party for my Thing 1 and Thing 2.

I still can not believe that we are the parents of a 1 year old with many more wonderful years to look ahead to!
We love you Rexi

Let the countdown begin

With the days till Rex's 1st Birthday approaching I remember how important it was to me to keep his birthday and Christmas separate. If I met you and your birthday was near the best holiday in the year I would ask you, "what did your family do to make your birthday so special so close to the holidays?". A couple of cute comments come to mind: a grandmother who always sent her grandson a birthday card and Christmas card (he was born on Christmas), a family who let their child celebrate his half birthday or allowing a child to open 1 present a week leading up to Christmas! Well this year I have decided to go with the gifts leading up to Christmas!!!
I know he does not know any better, but I do! We decided that due to the increasing cold Rex could open his present from Mommy and Daddy! And let's just say that he loves it!
Let's see why...

In addition Grandpa and Grandmas gift came in the mail as well and why go through all the trouble in wrapping it when it was just to big to hide???
He loves this gift as well.....check it out.

What a happy boy......Love that lil smile.

We have two weeks to go until his actual birthday but let all those days be as special as the day he was born. We love you Monkey

Monkeying Around

With this being your first Halloween we visited Aunt Judy's annual Halloween party. You the monkey and Mommy and Daddy the Zoo Keepers! You had so much fun watching all the other cousins running around and kept on your costume longer then I expected!!

Finally on Halloween night we dressed you in your costume and paraded you around while handing our candy. You loved to carry around the little packs of Hot Tamales because on the noise they made when you squeezed the bags (I think you were actually trying to eat them!)
All in all you had a blast and the Monkey costume was a hit!!

Time to start thinking about next years costume.....maybe a dinosaur????
